This year almost 40 students from the NMS in St. Jakob visited us here at the HLW St. Peter to take part in our Language Day, which is an annual event aimed at exposing potential students to the importance of languages in the workplace and showing them that languages can be learned in innovative and fun ways. Students were invited to immerse themselves in English, Slovene, Italian and Russian. Mag. Doheny challenged students to a round of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? With the winners walking away with never having homework in August ever again. Mag. Koschier taught students how to introduce themselves in Slovene and hosted a quiz about Slovenia. Mag. Kulnik guided our guests through an original Italian recipe, where students could finally taste their sweet and creamy creations. Our headmaster, Mag. Schellander, hosted the Russian experience, where students learned to write their names in Cyrillic script and some useful phrases for the next time they are in Moscow. The visit ended with a complimentary drink, and we hope that everyone benefited from the visit and enjoyed their time with us.

Am 26. September 2019 fand an unserer Schule der “Tag der Sprachen” statt. Daran waren 39 Schülerinnen und Schüler der NMS St. Jakob im Rosental beteiligt. Sie arbeiteten in Gruppen im Stationenbetrieb in den Sprachen Slowenisch, Englisch, Italienisch und Russisch.
Das Programm war breit gefächert, es reichte unter anderem von der “Millionenshow” auf Englisch bis zu slowenisch sprachigen Liedern. Die Schülerinnen und Schüler konnten an diesem Tag in einer entspannten Atmosphäre die Sprachenvielfalt der HLW St. Peter kennen lernen.
